Hey, Entreleaders! I want to introduce you to my brother from THE SAME mother, one of my personal real-life heroes who has been making moves in education from coaching athletes on and off the field to coaching staff and administrators. Meet Mr. André Stewart, Sr., the new Interim Chief Operations Officer for Chapel Hill – Carrboro City Schools in the state of North Carolina!

About Mr. André Stewart, Sr.
Andre’ Stewart was born on January 7, 1976, in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his formal education from Baltimore City Schools (Baltimore, MD), Camden City Schools (Camden, NJ), and Roanoke Rapids City Schools. Upon graduating high school he received a BS in History from Chowan College (1994) and teaching licensure through NC Wesleyan University (1996). He received his MSA in school administration in 2011 from the University of Phoenix. Currently, he is enrolled at Liberty University pursuing a PH. D in curriculum and instruction (’22). He completed fifteen years as a high school social studies teacher and coach. He started off teaching and coaching at Roanoke Rapids High School for nine years. He then moved to Northwest Halifax High School for six years as the head football coach. He was the head baseball coach for 4 years and the athletic director for 2 years. He has also taught online for NC Virtual Public High Schools for four years. In 2012, he left Halifax County Schools and took a position at Weldon High School as the assistant principal. In 2014, he became the principal of Weldon Middle School where he has enjoyed a successful run for the last five and one-half years. He was named the Weldon City Schools Principal of the Year in two consecutive years 2017-2018. In January of 2020, he became the Chief Operations Officer for Warren County Schools. In September of 2021, Andre’ accepted the position of interim Chief Operations Officer for Chapel Hill Carrboro City School, one of the premiere public school districts in the state of North Carolina. He has been married to Christina Stewart for the past 22 years and they have two sons Andre’ Jr. (18) a freshman at Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City NC and Aric (15) sophomore in high school.
